UFC Legend Shares Tupac Shakur’s Iconic Statement on Women After Controversial Roe v. Wade Verdict

Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, once touted as MMA‘s biggest superstar, has reacted to the Roe v. Wade ruling. The current PFL athlete shared a phrase from a Tupac Shakur’s rap song to provide his emotion about the verdict.
‘Showtime‘, who recently lost his PFL bout against Stevie Ray via a modified body lock in the second round for PFL 5: Regular Season, took to his Instagram to express his opinion about the ruling.

On his Instagram stories, Pettis shared a post from former NBA athlete Matt Barnes, who posted a phrase from Tupac Shakur’s song ‘Keep Ya Head Up’.

Tupac was an iconic rapper, who had numerous hits throughout his career. This song, ‘Keep Ya Head Up’, was released in 1993.

On the business end, Pettis is having one of the worst phases of his career after cutting ties with UFC. ‘Showtime’ left the UFC on a high nod with two back-to-back wins over Donald ‘Cowboy‘ Cerrone and Alex Morono. And while the former UFC lightweight champion would’ve hoped to continue the momentum in the PFL & win the million-dollar tournament, it wasn’t the case.
From WEC-UFC to PFL: Highs and Lows of Anthony Pettis
‘Showtime’ won the WEC lightweight championship against Benson Henderson at WEC 53: Henderson vs. Pettis. After this, he came to UFC with all the hype behind him, chiefly because of the ‘Showtime kick’.
In his promotional debut in the UFC, he lost to Clay Guida and had a tough split decision win against Jeremy Stephens in his next outing. But two back-to-back finishes of Joe Lauzon and Donald Cerrone via head kick and body kick (T/KO) earned him a title shot against his former rival Benson Henderson.

Pettis shockingly submitted ‘Smooth’ via an arm bar at UFC 164. Later, he choked out Gilbert Melendez to make his first title defense at UFC 181. In his second title defense at UFC 185, the lightweight lost his belt to Rafael dos Anjos. This started a downfall in Pettis’ career.
He lost to Eddie Alvarez and Edson Barboza and was on a three-fight losing streak. From then on, Pettis could never build a decent winning streak; Even changing promotions didn’t help him. He is currently 1-3 in the stacked PFL lightweight division.
