While divorces are rough and often take a toll on the person, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the Skiing legend, Lindsey Vonn.
Lindsey Caroline Vonn is a former World Cup alpine ski racer from the United States of America. She has won four World Cup overall Championships – holding three consecutive titles in 2008, 2009, and 2010, and the last one in 2012.

Why did Lindsey Vonn feel most empowered after her divorce?
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Skiing legend once shared that the time she felt the most empowered was the year after her divorce. She expressed that she felt she was finally the one in control of her personal as well as professional life. Vonn said, “I felt like in charge of my life.”

Furthermore, Vonn recalled the time when people tried to demean her by equating her success to the presence of a man in her life. However, post her divorce, Vonn went on to give the best season of her career. It was her performance that made her feel empowered. She said, “I felt like I was on top of the world and I got there all by myself.” She managed to win four titles in the said season.

Lindsey tied the knot with her fellow 2002 Olympian and now ex-husband, Thomas Vonn, on September 29, 2007. The couple had a beautiful wedding at Silver Lake Lodge in Deer Valley, Utah. However, just four years after their marriage, in 2011, the two athletes decided to call it quits. Their divorce was finalized on January 9, 2013.

After her divorce, Lindsey gave love a chance time and time again. In December 2019, Vonn got engaged to her then-boyfriend, P.K. Subban, whom she was dating since June 2018. However, in December 2020, the couple announced their breakup through Instagram. Vonn announced that though the relationship was over, the two will remain friends.

What’s sitting at the top spot on Lindsey’s bucket list?
Talking about her future plans in the interview with EW, Lindsey shared what’s on her bucket list. The Olympian has been to a lot of beautiful places throughout her career. However, she feels that she has just traveled from one location to the other. She shared that because of her professional commitments; she wasn’t able to explore the places she had visited. Therefore, she wants to travel in the future. She also shared that the biggest thing on her bucket list is skydiving.
