“It’s Very Isolating”- Lindsey Vonn Reveals the Family Member Who Stuck by Her During Tough Times

The importance of focusing on one’s mental health is important in every sense. Everybody has different ways of dealing with mental health struggles. Having great company helps people to cope with stress while there are unique ways of dealing with problems. For Lindsey Vonn, though, her pet dog helps her to cope with these problems.
Leo, Bear, and Lucy are her three wonderful friends who help her during tough times. It is incredible to see them having a great bond with Vonn and she cherishes every single moment of it. Vonn spoke about the influence they have and how they help her with her mental state.

Lindsey Vonn loves her dogs
Dogs are beautiful. They understand emotions from people so easily that we wish they could talk. Meanwhile, Vonn has three dogs. In 2014, Leo came in and gave her company. She missed the 2014 Sochi Olympics, and Leo sat with her and helped her. “I could no longer hide under my covers, and I think that was a really, really important step for me,” said Vonn.

Soon after, she introduced Bear while Lucy came after. Being on the road every day, it was tough for Vonn to deal with her emotions and talked about the misconceptions people had about athletes. Winning and living alone was not an easy task, and Vonn dealt with it with her lovely dogs.

“I started to have a hard time being on the road by myself. Everyone thinks winning is so glamorous, but you come back to an empty hotel room, and you’re away from your friends and your family and it’s very isolating and can be very difficult. So Lucy helped me a lot,” said Vonn, who loved the company of her dogs.

Another interesting method
Apart from spending quality time with her loved ones, Vonn journaled her day-to-day activities in her book. Getting injured is hard for everyone involved, especially a professional athlete. Thus, Vonn found it the hard way in 2014 and her family members helped her with it as well. They made a collection of photos to cheer her up.
Little snippets of happiness collectively help a person grow out of their slump. Many people find it hard to deal with mental health struggles. However, Vonn loved the fact that she had three best friends to look up to and it helped her to cope with her problems. Dogs are kind and beautiful, and having a dog makes us happy.
