The New York Yankees list of potential shortstops is thinning, as teams are targeting top shortstops on the free agency. Earlier, Corey Seager was secured by Texas Rangers, and now Javier Baez is also going off-market.

The Detroit Tigers are said to be signing a deal with the former Chicago Cubs shortstop, Javier Baez. If it becomes officially confirmed, which is not done yet, the Yankees fans are going into a panic situation. However, it also highlights the fact that Yankees might have already pre-decided their favorite for the shortstop position.

New York Yankees dis-interest in others, hints at their priority for Carlos Correa

When Carlos Correa was spotted with Detroit Tigers manager, A. J. Hinch; it was assumed he might plan to join the Tigers. However, it was a random breakfast between two old friends, as Carlos Correa was out of budget for the Tigers but, the sources have confirmed a potential deal with Javier Baez.

With Corey Seager and Javier out of reach, Carlos Correa seems to be the priority for the Yankees. It was already rumored that the Yankees were planning to approach Correa with a $300 million deal in December. Interestingly, there have been no other rumors about Carlos Correa in a while. And, if you focus on the words of praises said about Correa by the Yankees’ front office, it will add up to his potential future to the pinstripes team.

Many fans were skeptical if Carlos Correa has a future in Yankees, because of his past controversy in Houston Astros (2017). However, keeping their doors are open for Carlos, Yankees manager, Aaron Boone, and owner, Hal had discarded the thoughts revolving around his past.

Notably, both had praised Carlos for his incredible skills as a shortstop. Yankees’ owner had said,“He’s obviously a great talent. And, look, I think, hopefully, most people have moved on from that. I mean, I think it’s only healthy to move on from things like that instead of stewing on it year after year.”
