The combined competition offers her a final chance of winning a medal at the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. The disappointment of not retaining her medals is there, but the combined event is a chance to redeem some supremacy.

When speaking to the reporter after the race, she looked much more relaxed and at ease. Notably, her pre-Olympics training sessions were not up to the mark according to her and that is being seen in Beijing. Hence, it would be important for her to regain her focus and go full throttle for the combined event. Shiffrin spoke about the existent tough competition but how she believes herself to have a good shot at the podium now.

“I mean, we’ll see. There is a couple of women who have a really good shot for strong downhill runs and also really strong slalom runs. I don’t feel that anything is guaranteed. Not at all, especially not for, after the last couple of weeks, but, I think I have a shot and that’s really nice. So I will go for it and we will see,” said Shiffrin.
