Arnold Schwarzenegger stamps his authority

Negotiating a deal with the Austrian Oak gets as hard as climbing a large oak tree. He never bends, nor does he succumb to pressure. That made him millions in the real estate market by following his intuitions. During the negotiations for Predator 2, producer John Davis revealed problems that crept up with those discussions. Arnold put up an offer, and so did the studio. Neither party was going to give in. Hence, Danny Glover replaced him in the role.

According to Davis, the two sides had a difference of $250,000. They denied the offer and replaced Arnold. “The studio was negotiating with him, and the whole deal fell apart over $250,000. And it was obvious: Joe Roth, who was the head of the studio at the time, just said, ‘I won’t go past this number’ and Arnold wanted this other number,” mentioned Davis.

Predator 2 was not a box office hit

The first installment of the movie claimed $98 million at the box office. However, the second installment only produced $55 million. During those times, the name Arnold gets fans in the theater hall wanting to see his stunning action sequences and charismatic performances. Who knows? Maybe, if the studio offered him that $250,000, the movie could have fetched better numbers.

The film suffered, and one can say Arnold’s value increased as a result. He made some shrewd deals, and in the movie Twins, he earned up to 35-40 million by just taking the royalties. The magnificent Arnold is not only one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time but a visionary negotiator. He knew how to play the right cards throughout his career.
