Jay Cutler’s top choice for training for chest and forearms

Jay Cutler remained a beast throughout his career. Moreover, the way he has carried his physique even after retirement is commendable. In the Facebook video he shared, Cutler shared a few tips, such as top chest movements,using a smith machine, workouts for the back, etc. To begin with, let’s have a look at Jay’s top choices for chest and forearm workouts.

Cutler revealed his top three chest workouts in the uploaded video. The workouts are: “Dumbbell flat bench press, Inclined dumbbell press, dumbbell fly on a flat bench.” Whereas while talking about forearms, Cutler revealed that during his career, he didn’t train his forearms with consistent workouts individually.

However, for fitness lovers, he suggested a movement that will provide them with maximum contraction and results. Other than the ordinary reverse curls and hammer curls, Cutler suggested “reverse curls with a barbell”. While performing the exercise, the barbell has to be held behind the body and has to be curled upwards. The contraction will be maximum on the forearms, and so will the pump.

4x Mr. Olympia reveals the best ways to train

Other than chest and forearms, Cutler also talked about using the Smith machine correctly, his top back workouts, and his favorite and basic trap workout as well. While talking about the Smith machine, he told that it has multiple uses. He revealed that the Smith machine offers training for multiple muscles. He said, “You will see me squat on the Smith machine, you will see me bench press on here, you will see me shoulder press, sometimes do upright rows.”

Other than that, he opened up about the best back workouts, which also turns out to be his favorite muscle group to train. He listed his top three workouts, which are: “Reverse grip pull-downs, bent barbell row with reverse grip and seated cable row with close grip handle.” Whereas, for traps, he disclosed that he “always stuck to dumbbells”. Moreover, with a simple “straight up and down movement”, rather than rolling the shoulders.
