The sport of bodybuilding is one of the most grueling and demanding sports. Though all the above prerequisites are followed religiously by fitness fanatics, achieving mental toughness is still an imperative agenda that many are dealing with. However, the 38-year-old South African bodybuilder Noel Deyzel just has the right answer for everyone who is struggling with the cognitive side of bodybuilding.

Recently, the South African bodybuilder shared his valuable counsel about the mental prowess required to cope with several setbacks. He shared various nooks and crannies of how one can deal with the stumbling blocks and other career pitfalls.

In his latest Instagram reel, the 38-year-old pulled off the curtains from his coping mechanism for dealing with a major impediment he faced as a bodybuilder. Deyzel started off his message by saying, “if you’re going through something tough. This may help you”. He then mentioned his greatest career setback by revealing, “one of the hardest moments of my life was tearing my bicep”.

The bodybuilder further asserted, “not because it hurt me physically but more so mentally. It felt like my life was crashing down. I felt my bodybuilding social media career was over. Everything I dreamed of was down the drain”. Nevertheless, to overcome the obstructions, he chose a rather intriguing way. “I reconsidered everything in my life, and I came to the conclusion that I needed to make my content more purposeful”, added Deyzel.

More so, he gave the example of when the pandemic caused a global fiasco and affected the mental health of many across the globe. The 38-year-old conceded, “The emotional state of people in 2020 was rough, and if I can make an impact, no matter how small, it would be worth it. And here I am. If it wasn’t for that major setback, my path would be very different”.

Nonetheless, he concluded his counsel through an inspiring message. “Oftentimes we are like an arrow. We need to get dragged backward to propel ourselves forward. All we have to do is to make the most of it”, added Deyzel. Captioning the post, the social media influencer penned, “it’s always the setbacks that propel us forward”. It indeed was valuable advice from the 38-year-old bodybuilder. Though he faced an obstacle in his bodybuilding vocation, he dealt with it diligently.
