In his half-a-century-long career in bodybuilding, Arnold Schwarzenegger has gathered immense experience and knowledge about the sport and the human body. In addition, he always tries to spread knowledge as much as possible. According to The Atlantic, Schwarzenegger did the same in 1981. As Schwarzenegger met his business partner Paul Wachter for the first time in 1981, he left him with informational advice about the human body.
As Wachter had turned 25 then, Schwarzenegger shared his advice saying, “Once you hit 26, it’s all downhill with the body.” However, that doesn’t mean you cannot start working out or training your body after you have turned 26, it is just that it isn’t the peak anymore. Wachter recalled, “You can still be in shape, but the peak is over at 26.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger has witnessed his body change from a physique that won seven Mr. Olympia titles to a physique of a 75-year-old. However, he has been doing a fine job as he still works out without faulting his schedule and keeps himself fit. But it isn’t nearly as it used to be. While talking with The Atlantic, the interviewer asked, What does it feel like to perpetually compare with your long-ago peak?
Everyone’s body changes as they age, as it is just a natural phenomenon. It can neither be stopped nor ignored. However, it becomes difficult when someone is “celebrated for years for having the best developed body.” Arnold continued, “You get chubby. You get overweight, you get older and older.” The amount of change Arnold has witnessed in his body has surely made him a bit sad as he said, “The change I saw.”
