In the world of bodybuilding, Ronnie Coleman needs no introduction. Coleman is an eight-time Mr. Olympia, the most Mr. Olympias ever won by an individual. During his prime, he used to lift heavy. Nobody could compete with Coleman’s inhuman status of lifting incredible weights. However, all the weightlifting came at a cost. Coleman underwent plenty of surgeries after his retirement.

During an interview back in 2019, our eight-time Mr. Olympia answered questions about his relationship with Dorian Yates. Yates, who is a retired bodybuilder, won Mr. Olympia six times consecutively. He has the fifth-highest number of Mr. Olympia wins in history. Coleman was also questioned about the new era of bodybuilding in the interview with Patrick Bet-David.

“They wouldn’t make top 5,” Coleman said. As Coleman talked about how the new generation won’t even make it to the top 5 during his prime. “I will kind to agree with that,” Coleman agrees with the point that Bet-David made regarding Dorian Yates’s opinion about Brandon Curry. Yates had previously mentioned that Curry, with the physique he had back in the day, wouldn’t even get close to the top five in the 90s. Coleman also agreed to that. Then he spoke about him and Yates not agreeing upon things regularly.

“No, I don’t,” Coleman replied to Patrick. He only agrees with Yates about pointing out the new generation of bodybuilders. “Conditioning is not the same look at those guys I mean nobody looks like they’ve been on a diet like a diet,” Coleman laughed. Coleman and Yates used to train like they were on another level, and they had one of the best physiques. They just aren’t able to find someone who can be like them in the current era.

Coleman casually pointed out that every bodybuilder that Patrick showed was out of shape. The way Coleman described them left Pattrick flabbergasted.

Legends in their prime

Back in the 90s, the world saw legends like Dorian Yates and Ronnie Coleman. They were at the peak of bodybuilding, and the whole world was in awe of that.

The icons don’t have any beef with the new generation of bodybuilders. They just want them to draw inspiration from their prior generation.
