Moreover, they birthed four children together. In 1996, Schwarzenegger revealed the relationship triangle between him, his cigar, and his wife.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and cigar share one of the strongest relationships on earth. Even today, he hasn’t stopped smoking cigars. Even after multiple heart surgeries, he continues to do so. On the other hand, when they were married, Shriver didn’t like to be surrounded by smoke in her house. Arnold had disclosed an incident from 1996 when they bought a new house at Sun Valley.

Arnold revealed Maria’s words. She said, “You’re certainly not going to smoke cigars up here, are you–not in all this wonderful, fresh, clean air?” To which Arnold replied, “When we entertained, I’d certainly offer cigars after dinner. No way I’m not going to do that.”

Arnold continued, “But if I’m alone, I’ll go outside and smoke in the Jacuzzi. Same thing at home. If we have guests, I’m going to pass cigars. But if I’m alone, I’ll smoke in the Jacuzzi or while I’m playing pool. I won’t smoke upstairs, near the kids’ bedroom. Besides, I don’t want to stink up my clothes or the bedroom.”
The couple’s divorce got finalized in 2021

Maria Shriver decided to separate from the former California governor in 2011.
Interestingly, the divorce was filed in 2011 and took 10 years to finalize. In December 2021, a Los Angeles judge signed the petition and finalized the couple’s divorce after a long duration of 10 years.
