Zane revealed the power of surprise and that of being unseen. He said, “Well, you know, it’s like the great unveil, you know, you’ll walk around that way, and then it’s this whole thing about it is, you have to shock people. You know, when you go on the show, you have to, the unveiling should be exactly that they should be astonished. You look so good and the way you do that is you don’t give it away ahead of time. You don’t, uh, do all this publicity where you’re posting in public and everything and everybody sees you then they know what to expect.”
Mike O’Hearn immediately grabbed onto the logic and facilitated his understanding with another example. The 54-year-old bodybuilder described the same thing as when an artist hides his painting or any form of art before unveiling it before a main event. The element of surprise is one of the most underappreciated things that can make a big difference in bodybuilding.
