Jake Gyllenhaal had an implausible transformation for his movie “Southpaw,” released in 2015. The fitness icon got truly impressed by his transformation and couldn’t resist complimenting his physique on a renowned show.

During The Graham Norton Show, Arnold Schwarzenegger, once featured in an episode with Emilia Clarke, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Cara Delevingne. Meanwhile, Arnold took the opportunity to congratulate Jake on the amazing transformation he had for his movie. Arnold said, “Talking about being in shape. This guy here (Jake Gyllenhaal) got in incredible shape. Did you see his body? His latest movie. And he got ripped.”
Indeed, Jake had an incredible transformation for ‘Southpaw,’ where he played the role of a boxer. He trained hard to learn to box and get in shape for the role. Not only Arnold, but even Graham Norton couldn’t resist admiring Jake’s performance and his determination for the role in the movie.

The outcome that we see on screen has to go through intense input to look like that. Similarly, Jake went through a whole different journey to rise as a star on the big screen. During the show, Norton asked, “Did you know you could end up looking like that?”

Jake responded, “No, I mean the goal was to learn how to box. I didn’t know how to box before I started this movie. So, the goal was just I spent five months and then I decided I didn’t have enough time so if I did it two times a day, I would spread it out into 10 months.”

Jake continued, “So I went and learned the methodology and the techniques of boxing, then slowly and slowly got into shape. It was a pretty slow progression over five months.”
Jake did put in high energy and everything into this project. Moreover, the dedication and work put in impressed the biggest action hero in the world. Boxing is not a simple sport to learn and especially act after that. However, Jake managed to learn and perform within a small amount of time. That is worth getting appreciated.
