The life of Arnold Schwarzenegger was eventful because of the various challenges he faced. He became a seven-time Mr. Olympia winner while being a successful action hero superstar. All in all, in every challenge put forth to him, he succeeded. But his marriage failed after he admitted that he fathering his family housekeeper’s son, Joseph Baena. The times before that were happy and they were the power couple who drew everyone’s eyes. 

Like every couple, Arnold and Maria had their fair share of differences. In a past interview with Oprah, she opened up about the challenges of living under the same roof with the Austrian Oak. Shriver explained the way Arnold made things challenging for her, forcing her to adjust all the way through. 

Was Arnold Schwarzenegger a tough man to live with?

During the interview, Oprah questioned how challenging it was for Shriver to live with Arnold. She replied, “No, he is challenging to live with. You know, if I will say, oh I feel this way. No, not on my time. Move along. Work it out. Let’s go. You know, and I’m like ahh.” Being the prima donna himself, Arnold worked his way to the top. Of course, he wants everything to be perfect in his way. 

Likewise, Shriver explained how Arnold refrained from talking for hours on the phone. He was a person who loved silence, apparently, and enquired why she asked him a lot of questions. “If I ask, ‘what do you think of this? What about that?’ and he goes ‘ Will you be quiet already with all your talking and asking questions.’ Need to converse all the time,” said Maria.

She continued, “I am like that as we know. I like to talk. And actually, my brothers love to talk. Arnold isn’t one to spend time like an hour on the phone. He is like not into that.”

Relationship troubles!

Despite all the mellow problems, they were together for nearly 25 years and tied the knot in April 1986. They met at a tennis tournament and connected well from that day. The pair had four children together but announced their split in 2011. Arnold spoke about how he regretted the mistake he made after the fiasco. 

They jointly raised their four children, Katherine Schwarzenegger, Christina Schwarzenegger, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Christopher Schwarzenegger. They wanted their kids to have a good upbringing and understand significant values in life.
