Arnold Schwarzenegger debuted in Hollywood, the same year he won his first Mr. Olympia title (1970). Although, he became an international star after the release of ‘The terminator,’ in 1984. But later, in 1988, another iconic movie of Arnold was released by the name of ‘Twins’, featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Danny DeVito.

Surprisingly, the movie is in hype again after more than three decades of its release. It is because Deadpool’s creator revealed some astonishing facts about the creation of the Deadpool character.

Was Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Twins was the inspiration for Deadpool’s character?

In 2016, Rob Liefeld, the creator of the Deadpool character, revealed his inspiration behind it. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Twins was the inspiration behind Deadpool’s character. He said, “I stole that cr*p straight out of Twins. When they go to Danny DeVito, ‘How are they twins? he goes, ‘All the purity and strength went into Julius. All the cr*p that was left over went into what you see in the mirror every morning.’ That’s Wade Wilson.”

According to Liefeld, Deadpool’s character was written to be the screwed one, Weapon IX, which was experimented on before Wolverine. He wanted Deadpool to be the one with similarities with Danny DeVito’s character, and Wolverine with Arnold’s character.

Will Deadpool and Wolverine end up being experimental brothers?  

A thousand questions must be engaging in the minds of the fans as they think about these experiments. Liefeld’s revelation has made the saga more thrilling than ever. Liefeld even said, while pitching the character to Marvel, he “Literally pitched him as (Wolverine’s) junk.”

It will be interesting to know what angles will be persued in the upcoming movie. Moreover, the recent Instagram posts of Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman, make things more fascinating for the fans. However, Rob Liefeld has been predicting it decently till now about the X being the roman numeral in the Weapon X.
