“I Will Not Be Denied”: A Year After His Leg Amputation in 2019, Bodybuilding Legend Flex Wheeler Was in the Gym Doing Leg Press

Kenneth “Flex” Wheeler is a retired American legendary bodybuilder. An IFBB professional bodybuilder, Wheeler was once a record holder of the Arnold Classic title, winning the crown four times.
Bodybuilding icons like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronnie Coleman have also described Wheeler as one of the greatest bodybuilders ever. In 2020, the icon was recovering from a leg amputation surgery when he posted a video on his Instagram that shocked everyone.

Nothing can stop Flex Wheeler from exercising!
Due to emergency surgery in 2019, Wheeler had a right leg amputation. A year later, when the bodybuilder was still recovering from the surgery, he posted an Instagram video of him doing leg presses at the gym.

Later, Wheeler posted another video of him walking around on his prosthetic leg. In the video, he said, “I never walked this far of a distance before [the surgery] because the pain was just so great.”
It’s no surprise that Wheeler is known as one of the greatest bodybuilders ever. Even when he was recovering from a major surgery, all “The Sultan of Symmetry” had on his mind was to stay in good shape.
History of Wheeler’s health issues

In the past, Wheeler had undergone a kidney transplant. However, due to the transplant, his kidney has never been in the best condition, causing numerous health issues over the years. Due to kidney failure and blood clot trouble, Wheeler had to get his right leg amputated.
However, even all this could not keep Wheeler away from bodybuilding. Even today, “The Sultan of Symmetry” works as a fitness and coach expert, helping young bodybuilders to achieve their goals.

Besides winning the Arnold Classic, Wheeler was three times Mr. Olympia runner-up and also a Hall of Fame entity.
