The Canadian did an ask-me-anything session on his Instagram handle. “Been a hot minute,” wrote the IFBB pro. The questions started pouring in, and one fan asked Valliere why he wanted to compete in the upcoming Arnold Classic in March. However, the IFBB pro wrote a lengthy explanation while sharing the upsetting news that he won’t compete in the Arnold Classic 2023.

The Canadian bodybuilding star has his priorities sorted

The main event of the Arnold Classic happens sometime between late February to March. However, for Iain Valliere, the “Timing is pretty awful.” The IFBB pro told the fan he dislikes that the Arnold Classic is happening in March. While the news might be upsetting for many of Valliere’s fans, the IFBB pro explained why he won’t compete in the show he nearly won in 2021.

“The one time I did it was when it was in October, right before the O (Mr. Olympia),” wrote the Canadian bodybuilding star. Unlike his previous outings, the 2021 Tampa Pro winner dropped out of the top ten at the 2022 Mr. Olympia contest. Valliere said he cannot afford to take time off after the 2023 Arnold Classic and “That’s like a year straight on prep.”

On December 25, 2022, Chris Bumstead’s brother-in-law appeared on Fouad Abiad’s YouTube channel. During the session, Valliere discussed some mistakes he made during last year’s Mr. Olympia that cost him a top-ten finish. The IFBB Pro said his first mistake was reducing the sodium intake by a third, which is something “We don’t typically do.”

Besides messing up his sodium intake, Valliere also said he made some posing errors. Again, the Canadian bodybuilding star said he tried to make substantial changes to his posing routine in a brief time. However, Valliere plans to fix all his shortcomings for the next Mr. Olympia contest.
