The 2022 released TV show, The Terminal List, is based on a book authored by a former Navy SEAL, Jack Carr. In the series version, Chris Pratt plays the leading character of James Reece, whose platoon gets ambushed during a covert mission, and the story deals with his journey after that. Patrick’s character is the youngest one in the platoon who Reece loses during the ambush.

In the interview with Sirius X, Pratt was asked if Patrick auditioned for the role? Pratt replied, “I literally can’t remember if he did or not. I’d have to ask him. But he was so right for the role that I absolutely would have cast him even if I didn’t know him if I wasn’t related to him.”

Further, Pratt goes on and briefly explained Patrick’s character in the show. He said, “He’s this young stud character named Donny Mitchell. He’s supposed to basically be like the young face of the SEALs, you know. I’m the lieutenant commander, been in 20 years tip of the spear, and he’s a young buck, young stud, eager, badass, who’s made it onto our team. Eager and full of life, you know, has a wife, starting a young family, but just like a hungry bulldog.”

While explaining why Patrick was a perfect face for the young character, he had to spill out a spoiler about the show. Pratt explained, “I knew it was important that he have a face that would be unforgettable so it would really gut you when we lose him, as you know, spoiler alert, but yeah, James Reece loses his troop in the opening sequence so you get a premise of like, oh! I can’t wait to watch this guy. I love this guy, and then you’re like, what? That dude just quickly died in a fog of war.”

However, Pratt didn’t give the role to his brother-in-law without getting something in return. Let us have a look at the demands put forward by Pratt.

Patrick Schwarzenegger is making it as a skilled actor with each passing role he is playing. Much is owed to the wonderful cast that he gets to work with. While working with his brother-in-law, Pratt helped the young actor on account of the years of experience the former has had in the industry. When Patrick appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last year, he disclosed how Pratt helped him out preparing for Donny’s character in The Terminal List.

Patrick said, “Hey, there is this Donny Mitchell. You’ll be the youngest one in the platoon, but hey, man, I need you to go and try to get into the character.” Moreover, he also demanded Patrick gain 20 pounds and take tactical training for the role.
