As one last step, hopefully, towards his next win, Bumstead is ready to bring back his “lucky” look. Chris Bumstead recently took to his Instagram and posted a story hinting towards his next move. He shared a black-and-white close-up selfie of himself. With the photo, he added a one-line caption that indicated his near-future plans. The caption read, “bout time for the beard to go…👨🏻”

If Bumstead removes his bread and lets his mustache stay, he’ll get his lucky look. With this, it can be assumed that the vincent-prince mustache is coming back, as promised by the bodybuilder himself, earlier this year. During the Q&A session with Hany Rambod at the Arnold Classic 2022, Bumstead reinstated that the mustache will be coming back at the end of the year, for good.

At this point, Cbum’s mustache can be considered his signature look at the competition. While it may be just a look for the onlooker, it means significantly more than that for the 3x Mr. Olympia Classic Physique winner. In fact, Bumstead considers the mustache his lucky charm.

For the unversed, Chris Bumstead has been participating in the Mr. Olympia contests since 2017. However, it wasn’t until 2019 that he won his first title. And since then he never lost. But what changed in 2019 compared to the years before?

Well, according to Cbum, it was his mustache that worked as a charm. He first donned his iconic mustache in 2019. While initially there might be a funny story behind him taking that look, eventually it gave him confidence and that edge on the stage. Since 2019, the mustache has stayed with him in all his Mr. Olympia contests. The rest, as they say, is history.
