Challenging oneself is the biggest competition anyone can have. The journey of the legendary bodybuilder turned successful politician, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has invited lots of challenges in his life, which he successfully completed.
Earlier this year, he took on another challenge for himself which seems pretty ambitious. He had decided to lose weight by increasing his efforts and making his body fitter.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has always been disciplined in his workout
As reflected in his achievements, Arnold has always strictly adhered to his workout routine. From his early days of bodybuilding, he treats workouts as just another routine work like eating and sleeping. Schwarzenegger sees bodybuilding as playing chess, he says there are many ways to make a move in chess, and likely, there are many ways to attain the body type you aim for.
He used to lift weights five hours a day when he did bodybuilding. Later, when he became an actor he decided to adapt his training routine according to his roles. Currently, at the age of 75, he workout 1.5 hours daily which includes 45-60 minutes of cycling and 30 minutes of weight lifting.

Arnold added a new sport to his routine
Arnold Schwarzenegger set his target weight to be 218lbs in march this year. “I am going to get back to 218. I am going to conquer March. Who is with me?” he wrote in his inaugural newsletter. Later, in April he provided fans with an update on his journey. He mentioned that he is just 5lbs away from his target weight.

“I doubled down on my workouts and bike rides and cut out the bread this month and I’m almost at my goal weight of 218—well, to be totally honest, I actually still have 5lbs to go, so I’m not there yet,” he further wrote in his second newsletter. Adding to that, he also told his fans that he has leveled up his workout regime by adding skiing to it regularly. Skiing adds to his cardio and strength which will work more effectively.
“It’s so important to get your regular exercise, but also to participate in activities that make you happy and remind you why you train, even though somehow my thighs are always destroyed after a skiing weekend,” said the legend.
