“Not 100 Years Old”: Still Jacked at 54, Mike O’Hearn Made a Heartfelt Confession About How He Would Like to Be Remembered Earlier This Year

Mike O’Hearn is one of the most popular fitness icons in the bodybuilding world. He is looked up to for his jacked physique and his consistency over the last four decades in maintaining his physique. Earlier this year, he conversed with a YouTuber and fitness enthusiast, Olav Johnsrud, who shared an edited video clip from the interview on his Instagram account. When the 54-year-old was asked an unusual question about his lasting impressions, The Titan was taken aback. For the first few seconds, O’Hearn could only utter a “wow” before he collected his thoughts. 

The bodybuilding maestro gave a meaningful purpose that all fitness aspirants can look up to while putting their bodies through so much pain and physical strain. While assuring that he wants to be here for the long haul, his reflections are definitely ideals to live by.

Mike O’Hearn is famous for his physique. The reality tells us that the legend has worked for four decades consistently to build the exquisite physique he has achieved through years of dedication. While Johnsrud asked him, “What do you wanna be remembered for?” O’Hearn gave a beautiful reply. He said, “Wow. Um, dedication and longevity. The long game.”

Following up on this answer, Johnsrud asked O’Hearn’s age. To which O’Hearn jokingly replied, “155, it’s pretty awesome.” He further humorously introduced himself as a vampire and told him he was on Earth from the beginning of time. And now, it was O’Hearn who was asking questions here.

O’Hearn asked Johnsrud’s age, and continued, “So for you, in true health and fitness, is it about right now or what you gonna be like in the next 10, 20, 30 years?” He replied, “Of course, like the 20-30 years.” And that is what he wants to be remembered for, “for his quality of life”. While giving an important lesson about what must be the vision of a person who works out, O’Hearn revealed his answer smoothly.

O’Hearn added, “It’s about the life, right? The quality of life, not the expansion of life. Not 100 years old but the quality that you’re here. That’s what it should be about.” He has always been a massive supporter of hard work and inspires people to pursue fitness. But why is it exactly that he promotes fitness and bodybuilding so much? Here’s why.

Bodybuilding is so much more than just pumping iron

Mike O’Hearn is a fitness maniac. He loves to stay fit and promote fitness to as many people as he can. As he said in the interview with Johnsrud, fitness is about what our body will be able to look like and perform decades later. It is not about how it looks today; it is preparation for the upcoming hard days. Similarly, recently, he also shared his thoughts on how hard work in the gym prepares us for being strong.

In an Instagram video shared by O’Hearn, he shared an important message. He said, “The hardworking you put in the gym, may or may not win Mr. Olympia or a show. But what it’ll do is win life. Hard work will set you up for life.” The physical work we put up in the gym and the psychology of our minds run during that time prepare us for the challenges that we might face in life.
