Ronnie Coleman is a bodybuilding legend. The legend has gone through several things in life and has always come back stronger every time. Coleman had a dream run in bodybuilding, which eventually came to an end in 2006, when Jay Cutler won his first Mr. Olympia title.

Coleman looked the biggest in 2004 when he weighed more than 300lbs. Even the judges called him later to advise him to lose some weight. However, in an interview before 2005, Mr. Olympia, Coleman, discussed the future of his two children back then. What did he say?

Why didn’t Ronnie Coleman want his kids to follow him? 

Ronnie Coleman loved bodybuilding. It was his passion to build an enormous physique. He didn’t want to win some world-famous competitions or anything. He just wanted a free gym membership. His greed to have a free membership led his way to becoming the world’s biggest bodybuilder. But that is not something his kids might want.

During an interview in 2019, the reporter asked“How old are your children Ronnie, and do they follow bodybuilding? Do you think you will have any more?” 

Coleman answered, “One is 20, and one’s 19. If I don’t have anymore, I’m pretty sure I will be a grandfather. My kids follow my bodybuilding career, and have their own careers. I wouldn’t want them to follow my steps in bodybuilding anyway. One in the family is enough.”

He was content with having himself as a bodybuilder in the home. He didn’t want his children to become a bodybuilder but was happy with the career they want to pursue.

Who is there in Ronnie Coleman’s family?

Ronnie Coleman married Susan Williamson in 2016. His wife has stood by him through all his ups and downs. She is also a personal trainer. Coleman has eight children in total, six of which are girls. He has two daughters before his marriage to Susan. Similarly, Susan has two kids before her marriage to Ronnie.

And together, Susan and Coleman have four girls. Susan is a great wife and mother and has always kept Ronnie’s spirits up whenever he is passing through a low phase.

Coleman has a wonderful family. He wants his children to carry forward their careers as they like. Moreover, he revealed back in 2019 that he did not want any of them to follow in his footsteps. Moreover, his kids are not very old other than the first two. So the kids and their parents both have time to observe their talents and interests of them to continue to pursue a career.
