

Arnold Schwarzenegger met 21-year-old Maria Shriver while he was popular as a bodybuilder. They dated for nine years before tying the knot in 1986. Hailing from different backgrounds, the two were perceived to make an odd couple. Defying the odds, they shared a great connection as husband and wife.

Meeting Arnold came as a breath of fresh air to Shriver. He was funny and full of adventurous spirit, and Shriver found him attractive. After ten years of marriage, in an interview, Arnold takes a dig at Shriver, portraying a sarcastic husband and a shopaholic wife scenario as he celebrated his honorary degree.
Arnold Schwarzenegger received an honorary doctorate
There is not a dull moment with the live wire, Schwarzenegger. In an interview with his long-time pal, Jay Leno, the Terminator actor, unleashed an uber-cool side of himself. “This is now Dr. Schwarzenegger, am I correct?” the host began. “You better believe it,” the action star responded in a signature-Schwarzenegger tone.

On asking what the doctor’s degree was about, the former bodybuilding champion said it was a recognition for his charitable work. Moreover, he said, the prefix added “class” to his name. That said, Leno asked what did his wife, Maria thinks about the degree. “Is she impressed by the title?”
Schwarzenegger said, “She loves it. She was there at the ceremony. Gave another reason to buy a $1000 dress.” The room burst out with laughter. He continued, “She buys a dress even when I get a speeding ticket.”

Schwarzenegger’s mother was excited for a different reason
When the Governator’s mother learned about the Doctor degree, she felt ecstatic about it. In Schwarzenegger’s words, “Finally, you have this doctor degree. You have something to fall back on if this acting doesn’t work out.” And said that everyone was happy about the degree.

In 2022, it is not only hilarious but also inspiring to know that Schwarzenegger’s journey was not as glorious as the result. Transitioning from one field to another and proving excellence does involve immense effort and dedication – a 7 x Mr. Olympia, one of the highest-grossing and highest-paid actors across the globe, two terms as the Governor of California and many other feats.
