Age is not a barricade to achieving fitness goals. And the bodybuilding community reflects this truth well. The retired bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler often shares snippets of his bodybuilding career and fitness dreams on his official podcast, Cutler Cast. Cutler, the bodybuilding maestro, is looking for new fitness achievements as he nears his 50th birthday.

Retired in 2013, Cutler hasn’t lost track of bodybuilding and maintains his fitness at the age of 49. However, he has better plans for 50 and he is unstoppable in achieving his fitness goals. In his recent podcast, the champion gets candid about his ‘ Fit for 50’ challenge and how he is approaching it.

In the 72nd episode of the podcast, Cutler spoke about cutting his caffeine intake as he preps for his ‘Fit for 50’ challenge. “I‘m trying to cut back on the caffeine a little bit,” said 4x Mr.Olympia champion nonchalantly. “I’m on this whole kick now, as you know, I’m doing this whole fit for 50 thing,” he explained the reason behind his decision.

Speaking about his prep for his 50th birthday fitness goals, the legend bodybuilder said, “I am actually stepping away from normal activities and I ‘m going to go full tilt starting May.” He plans to follow a very strict nutrition program and protocol so that he could carve himself out physically by August. “I’m giving myself about 12 weeks to get in shape,” said Cutler, revealing his targets.

Cutler described himself as relatively lean and accepted that he doesn’t have a lot of fullness. So he said the diet is going to be huge to make him look massive. However, there are no clear goals for Cutler, as he doesn’t have any real predictions about his look for the challenge. “This is all new to me,” Cutler affirmed, adding, “I’m not going into old protocols.Earlier, Jay Cutler is known to spend around $50,000  on food annually.

Real growth happens when one focuses on self, and that’s what Cutler is aiming for now. “The fit for 50 challenge is me against me!” said Cutler, revealing the ideology behind the challenge. He sums up that the entire challenge is to get into the best shape since his retirement in 2013. Cutler has decided to document his journey as the challenge is motivating many people.

Further, Mr. Fourth Quarter is planning to release his book for his 50th birthday. The book will give more insights into his life as a bodybuilder to the readers and Cutler ascertains that it will bring the readers closer to him.
