“They Obviously Did a Fantastic Job”- Arnold Schwarzenegger Once Regretted on Passing $335 Million Blockbuster Movie

74-year-old Arnold Schwarzenegger has acted in many great movies in his career. From Terminator to Predator, Arnold has a diverse set of acting skills. Notably, Arnold once did an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on Reddit with his fans. There Arnold answered the question of his fans in a pretty cool way.

Arnold, with his awesome username GovSchwarzenegger, was questioned about his movies. A user, Salacious, asked Arnold which role he still regrets turning down. To this, Arnold replied, “I most regret not doing The Rock. I love the movie, and it turned out well. When it was offered to me, there was only an 80-page script with a lot of handwriting and scribbles, and it didn’t seem fully baked. But they obviously did a fantastic job.”

This was not the only role Arnold had turned down.

Have you seen the epic movie I Am Legend? Unfortunately, Arnold Schwarzenegger turned down the offer of this movie as well. I am Legend, released in 2007. Unfortunately, when the movie was in development, the directors couldn’t hire him due to budget issues. So they had to bring Will Smith on board to replace Arnold.

Another movie Arnold turned down was Air Force One in 1997. This role was written considering Kevin Costner for the role, but he didn’t like it and rejected it. After him, directors tried to approach Arnold, but he also turned it down. After that, the director reached Tom Hanks and Dennis Quaid, but no one picked the role. At last, Harrison Ford got this role.

One of the biggest scripts Arnold said no to was Spider-Man in 1991. Cameron prepared a strong script filled with juicy villains like Electro and Dr. Octopus.

Cameron picked Arnold Schwarzenegger to play the role of Dr. Octopus. But unfortunately, that particular Spider-Man never made it to the big screen because the studio board did not like the script. After this, Arnold did the role of the comic villain Mr. Freeze in Batman and Robin.

Arnold’s biggest hit was The Terminator series

It could have been a mistake for Arnold if he had turned The Terminator series down. However, one of the biggest facts is Arnold’s agents convinced him to say no to this role. And this movie can ruin its reputation and status of Arnold. Everyone on his team was unsure of the consequences of this movie. After thinking and discussing it, Arnold took this role.
