Arnold debuted in a 1970 movie called “Hercules in New York” the same year he won his first Mr. Olympia title. However, Schwarzenegger became a global star after the release of “The Terminator” in 1984. It was a massive success, and it multiplied Arnold’s fame.

There was another action star who gave a pretty tough competition to Arnold in terms of action movies; he was none other than Sylvester Stallone. He and Arnold were two of the biggest action stars of their time. Both became iconic action heroes of that time and were considered to be each other’s biggest rivals. However, their bromance reached another level in 2012 when they were spotted together, not in a movie, but in a hospital.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone had minor shoulder surgeries
In 2012, Arnold had a packed year in terms of action films on the whole. He had completed shooting for “The Last Stand” and “The Expendables 2.” However, during the shoots, he got minor niggles in his shoulder during the action scenes. Arnold wrote, “After all the action, stunts & physical abuse shooting The Expendables 2 and The Last Stand, it was time for a little …”.

Coincidentally, his co-star in “The Expendables 2” detected an issue with his shoulder too. Further adding to the coincidence, both the stars got their surgery scheduled one after the other, and that too in the same hospital. Arnold revealed via Twitter, he wrote, “Look who was coincidentally waiting in line behind me for his shoulder surgery.”

The bromance between Arnold and Sylvester
Arnold’s surgery was scheduled before Sylvester Stallone. The 7X Mr. Olympia underwent rotator-cuff surgery and was shifted to a room where Stallone was waiting for his turn after Arnold’s surgery. The source said, “Sly had told [the staff] not to start the surgery until Arnold woke up, so when [Arnold] woke up, [Sly] was right there”.

The former competitors and friends, Schwarzenegger and Stallone, looked very relaxed and had fun post-surgery. Schwarzenegger even tweeted their picture of laughing together post-surgery. Schwarzenegger tweeted, “Now we’re ready for another round of great times and action when we shoot The Tomb. #greattobeback”.
