Reacting to the blunder, Carlsen looked perplexed by Ian’s move. Taking to his Twitter, former World Champion Garry Kasparov reacted to the same and posted a hilarious tweet. Kasparov said,?“I response that says, ‘I didn?t really look at that because it would mean one of us has blundered and I don?t think it?s me!'”

In the game’s closing stages, he made a mistake by missing an elementary tactic with 27 c5, a move that trapped his white bishop in a way that he could not come back. After 3 hours and 51 minutes, Ian resigned to his third defeat, further dampening his hopes of a revival in the championship.

Can Magnus Carlsen defend his title?
Courtesy of that error, the tie was decided at the moment. Magnus made his moves and finished the game, cruising to another glorious victory. When Nepomniachtchi made that shocking blunder, Magnus spoke about how pressure gets to everyone, especially during such a tense situation.
“Pressure gets to everybody. As I said before, no style points awarded. I?ll take it. It was a tough game in which I was under pressure both on the board and on the clock. Just to turn it around like that was unexpected,” said Carlsen.

A comeback looks unlikely for the Russian challenger now. Despite holding Magnus to a draw in the first five games, the Norwegian is stamping his authority on the proceedings.
