In the year 2000, Bill Gates and Melinda Gates decided to form the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). The main focus of the foundation’s work has been improving the standards of healthcare and education for children all around the world. And now, Bill Gates’ daughter, Jennifer Gates, is headed down the same path.

Jennifer Gates completed her undergraduate in human biology at Stanford and got the degree in 2018. Post that, she secured her degree in MD from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York. Gates aspires to be a doctor and she wants to make it big in the medical arena and help others. Today, Jennifer Gates posted a piece of exciting news on her social media.

Gates just got her Master’s degree from Columbia, and she is now a Master of Public Health. Jennifer Gates has always been cognizant of the privilege she has after being born into one of the wealthiest families in the world. She has never taken that privilege for granted, and she has the same dream as her parents, to make the world a better place.

Jennifer Gates posted a picture of her and her family on Instagram with a graduation cap and a gown, revealing that she had gotten her Master’s degree.

In the caption, she wrote, “Master of Public Health. Thank you @columbiapublichealth for this incredible educational opportunity and the village around me who made this possible. Grateful”.

Gates also revealed that she got into the accelerated program, and was able to finish her degree in one year as compared to three years.

Her husband, the Olympian Nayel Nassar, shared this incredible achievement on his Instagram stories, and wrote, “So proud!”

In the photo, Jenn, as she sometimes calls herself, was seen wearing graduation robes. Melinda Gates, Bill Gates, and Nayel Nassar were also present in the photo. Looks like, Gates will be finally able to achieve her dream of helping the masses.

Gates wants to make good use of her privilege

Bill Gates is one of the richest men in the world right now, with a net worth of more than $110 billion. In 1995, when Jennifer Gates was born, she was born to the richest man in the world back then. According to an interview that Jennifer Gates gave to CNBC when Bill and Melinda Gates started their foundation, they discuss their work at home frequently.

Jennifer Gates revealed, “I grew up hearing about children’s mortality at the dinner table, about polio, about the HIV/AIDS epidemic.”

After hearing about the suffering of the world, especially among the kids, Gates was inclined to build a career in medicine, and at one point, she even wanted to be a pediatrician.

For now, it seems like public health is the arena in which she wants to make a change.
