Days After Announcing Her Gymnastics Exit, Olivia Dunne Smiles Back at Nostalgic LSU Moments

Oliva Dunne is the star gymnast of LSU. She has rightfully earned the crown as the top-earning female athlete in college sports. At the age of five, she joined the ENA gym’s pre-team. Triumphing at Level 4 State Championships, breaking records, and soaring from Level 5 to Level 8 within a year. At nine, she competed at Level 9, reaching regionals, and at ten, she wowed at Level 10, securing a spot at NIT. 

However, in a surprising twist, this gymnastics icon recently announced her departure from the sports world during an exclusive interview with Elle magazine. The TikTok star recently shared a nostalgic LSU moment from her teammate Alexis Jeffrey, giving us a glimpse of the heartfelt camaraderie.

LSU’s sensational gymnast, Alexis Jeffrey, lovingly known as ‘Lexi,’ treated her followers to a heartwarming championship moment shared on Instagram. In the picture, the entire gymnastics team was huddled together, radiating excitement. Lexi’s caption, “Moments like these >>”. Notably, KJ Johnson and Olivia Dunne were tagged in the photo. This prompted the swimsuit model to respond with a tender “Love my Jeff’‘ accompanied by a purple heart.  Later, Olivia posted the same picture on her Instagram story, expressing, “These moments, these people>>>”.

The delightful exchange continued as LSU gymnastics star, Haleigh Bryant, commented, “Can’t wait for more moments like this with you”. KJ Johnson added, “miss these so much”. Despite Olivia bidding farewell to the sport, she leaves with a newfound family of friends. Her departure is a leap towards exciting career adventures but her past achievements are still a marvel to look at.

Olivia Dunne is a star with many achievements

In 2016, Olivia Dunne showcased her exceptional gymnastic talent at the Bresteyn’s Elite Qualifier in Las Vegas, claiming the top spot on Floor. Notably, she triumphed at the KPAC Elite Qualifier in North Carolina, securing first place on the beam with a score of 14.2. Her success continued at the 2016 Secret U.S. Classic, earning her a qualifying score for the prestigious P&G Championships in St. Louis, Missouri. In that championship, Livvy shone, bagging two medals for her outstanding performance on the floor and beam.

Two years later, in 2018, she made her senior debut in Jesolo, Italy. She competed at events like the 2018 US Classic and the 2020 USA National Championships in Boston. Fall 2019 marked a significant milestone as the TikTok star signed her National Letter of Intent to attend LSU on a full athletic scholarship for gymnastics. While excelling at Level 10 competitions, she claimed victories at The Atlanta Centennial Classic in Georgia, Classic Rock Invitational in Arizona, and Elevate the Stage in Ohio. Her stellar performance at the Elevate the State meet earned her qualification for the prestigious 2020 Nastia Cup held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 6th. Olivia’s undeniable talent and dedication to gymnastics guarantee that she will always be a star. She is leaving a lasting legacy even after her departure.
