Preparations for the 2024 Dubai Cup have begun. A plethora of horses swarmed the Meydan Racecourse yesterday, captivating the world’s attention. But few of them made an impression on those who follow the horse racing industry. One such horse is Kabirkhan. The horse can be referred to as “Mr. International” due to it being a Kentucky-bred, Kazakhstan-owned, Russian-trained equine who pulled a stint at the UAE’s racetrack.

The Dubai Racing Carnival hosts a number of races leading up to the G1 Dubai World Cup in March. This list also includes the G1 Al Maktoum Challenge. However, the Meydan Racecourse watched Kabirkhan (USA) dominate the race with ease. This also made the video of the race viral on social media, as the American horse racing fans got a new horse to look forward to.

Any horse would love the chance to become a fan favorite in the lead-up to a big G1 event. Twelve horses lined up for the G1 Al Maktoum Challenge on Friday’s Dubai Racing Carnival, and fans were about to witness one of the dominant performances of the 2024 season. Atletico El Culano, Celtic Prince, Clapton, Desert Wisdom, and Everfast lined up at the first five gates of the racecourse. First Constitution, Franz Strauss, Made In Dubai, Military Law, and Walk Of Stars all took up gates 6-10. As for the last two gates, Kabirkhan and Mimi Kakushi got them full.

When the race began, First Constitution and Walk Of Stars were neck and neck for first place. But Kabirkhan came charging up from the middle of the pack, and on the final bend of the track, he claimed the lead. Walk Of Stars also tried to give the colt a challenge, but the pace of the horse wasn’t enough to catch the colt. As per the X post from Dubai Racing Club, the video shows how Kabirkhan maintained his lead in the final stretch and carried it across to the finish line. An impressive 4 3/4 lengths was the winning margin for the 4-year-old colt in the highly regarded G1 event. With his victory, the colt is now one of the favorites to confirm its seat in the G1 Dubai World Cup.
