Jackie believes in hard work and teaches the same value to his son, Jaycee. However, the fans recently got to see a very different side of Chan’s parenting technique. During one interactive session with fans, when Chan was asked about his huge Fortune and his plans for an inheritance, the answer came unexpectedly. Chan, who once refused to leave anything for his kids, remarked, “Not leaving them with anything is a huge mistake.”
Trying to reason out, he comments on how “kids come first.” Sharing his perspective, he remarks on how it’s the responsibility of the parents to make sure their “children are safe and have as great a life as you can possibly provide.” Even though he recognizes the importance of one learning to navigate the world on their own. He does not negate the importance of parents helping out their children.
The one time when Chan’s strict parenting infuriated his son
Talking about a childhood incident, Chan, in his autobiography Never Grow Up, revealed how he once rebuked his son for running some mischief. However, too young to understand his father’s words and overpowered by emotions, Jaycee decided to teach Chan a lesson. Waking up in the middle of the night, Jaycee tip-topped off into the room and thrashed the cupboard that his father very dearly maintained.
