As free agency draws closer to an end, Trevor Story has already chosen his new home. Earlier this week, the top free-agent shortstop and former Colorado Rockies star signed a six-year deal with the Boston Red Sox.

Before signing for the Red Sox, Story was heavily linked with a few other top teams, including the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers. But at the end of the day, Story chose Boston as his new home for the next few years.

Amidst mixed criticism, the Boston Red Sox seems like a dream destination for the star shortstop. Because recently, after signing for the Red Sox, Story revealed that it’s like a dream come true moment for him.

Notably, with Story coming to Boston, the Red Sox have strengthened their already strong squad for the upcoming season. Not to mention, the deal might have also left the Yankees fans feeling awkward. During the lockout and even when free agency resumed, the Yankees were favorites to sign him. But the former Rockies shortstop ended up with the arch-rivals of the Pinstripes.

Recently, during his first media address as a Red Sox player, Story also revealed that it is like a dream come true for him to play for the Red Sox. He also expressed his love for the team. He said that wearing the Red Sox jersey will be an honor for him while in the ballpark.

“A dream come true for me to play for an organization like Boston… A true privilege for me and my family,said Trevor Story while interacting with the media. “They’ve already made us feel like we’re at home… It’s the most historic place in baseball. It’s really an honor to put on this jersey and play in that ballpark every night… This is a very very attractive place for me and that’s why I chose this.”
