Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez has probably been the most popular name in baseball in the past 10-15 years. Even after retiring from the game, A-Rod always finds a way to make headlines. Recently, the former Yankees player revealed that before opting for baseball as a professional sport, he was a football player. A-Rod said that he could have a career in NFL too.

Notably, A-Rod is not the first baseball player who has played football in their early days. Apart from him, many athletes have tried playing different sports at a non-professional level. Sporting greats like Bo Jackson, Tim Tebow, and Drew Henson are a few of the legends who have played both baseball and football. Even NFL icon Tom Brady had started his sporting career in baseball before making it big in football.

Recently, when MLB legend and business tycoon, Alex Rodriguez, joined Jason Tartick on a podcast, he revealed many secrets, including his early days in sports. In the podcast, Tartick went back into A-Rod’s life when he used to play football as a quarterback, and asked what it would have been like if he would have taken the football route instead.

“No One to Blame but Myself” – Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez Has Made Peace With Being Left Out of the Hall of Fame

The Yankees legend said that he doesn’t look back too often and has no regrets about choosing baseball over football.

“I’m not someone that kind of looks back too often. I’m rarely.. the girls will tell you here,… I’m really someone that kind of looks forward. I learned from my past. But I really kind of think about what’s going to happen next.”

“But the one thing that was interesting, in my senior year, we had three quarterbacks in our division. And they both went on to have incredible NFL careers… and then I was the third so that was enough kind of I was a consolation prize that I thought I could have done okay,” said Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez.

Notably, during his high school days, A-Rod was a football player. But later he went on to play baseball and represented the New York Yankees for over 10 years in Major League Baseball.
