Los Angeles star pitcher, Shohei Ohtani, is all set to take the 2022 season by storm. After dominating the 2021 season, the reigning MVP is looking in red form ahead of the 2022 season of Major League Baseball.

Now, ahead of the Opening Day of the regular season, a top Japanese magazine has named Shohei Ohtani as their cover star for the next edition. Notably, ever since his arrival at the Angels, Ohtani has been ruling baseball’s biggest league.

In the last few years, Ohtani has become a global sensation in the sporting world. And this remarkable feature is yet another proof of that.

Be it on the mound or at the plate, Shohei Ohtani looks the best player wherever he plays. The Angels star is probably the best thing that has happened to baseball in years, if not decades. Given his extraordinary performances in MLB, Ohtani is already a fan favorite across the league.

And now, after his huge popularity in the United States of America, the two-way phenom is also getting unprecedented love from his native country. Hence, the popular Japanese sports magazine ‘Sports Graphic Number’ has named him their cover star for the month of April.

Taking to the microblogging site, a Japanese artist shared the cover page of the magazine, featuring Shohei Ohtani. The tweet also confirmed that the magazine will be available on March 31st.

Notably, the Opening Day of the 2022 season will start on April 7th. The LA Angels are set to play the Houston Astros in their Opening Day clash. Meanwhile, earlier this week, the Angels also announced that Ohtani will be their starter on the Opening Day game against the Astros.
