The New York Yankees are arguably the most successful team in the history of Major League Baseball. However, currently, they are going through possibly their worst times. Now, weeks before the kick-off of the new season, almost every team has strengthened their squad, while the Yankees are still the most unorganized team in MLB.

During the lockout, there were reports that the Yankees would sign a few of the top free agents for the next season. But the current scenario is completely different. The Yankees reportedly had their eyes on both top free agents, Freddie Freeman and Carlos Correa. And now, both of them are gone.

Instead, the Yankees have indirectly helped the Twins in Carlos Correa’s deal and dug their own graves. Notably, earlier today, Carlos Correa signed a three-year deal for a mammoth $105.3 million.

First, the Yankees lost Freddie Freeman to the LA Dodgers, and now they have also lost star shortstop Carlos Correa to the Minnesota Twins. Clearly, the Yankees are on the losing side here, as they still do not have a proper squad for the 2022 season.

In this free agency, the Yankees had three most important tasks to complete: 1.) renew Aaron Judge’s contract, 2) sign Freddie Freeman, and last but not least 3). also, try to sign free agent Carlos Correa. And guess what? The Yankees have failed big time in all three cases. Instead, they have brought Josh Donaldson from the Twins, who have a history with Gerrit Cole.
