For most baseball fans, December means the off-season. However, in 2022, the winter has brought with it the lockout. Hence, for the players of the league, it’s time to relax. Notably, star shortstop Trevor Story seems to be enjoying his vacation too. In an exchange on Twitter, the player tweeted to Alex Rodriguez about his Instagram post.

Trevor Story is the starting shortstop for the current Colorado Rockies and has been rumored for a switch for 2022. With the Yankees looking for a replacement shortstop and Correa looking for a long-term contract, Story will have his radar pinging. Trevor Story recently took to Twitter to comment on A-Rod’s recent Twitter post, which the ex-player reportedly posted from Florida. While the ex-Yankee may have taken to warmer climes for the winter, Story put up a decent question; Is it actually warmer there?

And while the ex-Yankee seems to be plenty happy and warm in his Instagram post, Story seems to be doubtful. Although, it must be said here that this is all likely in jest. Not to forget, Story grew up idolizing A-Rod while he played for the Texas Rangers. Hence, it is unlikely that Story meant any malice at all.

In 2019, the two actually had an opportunity to converse and exchange notes, and Story was only too happy. He said, “It was pretty special for me.” Speaking about how he watched a lot of Rodriguez’s playing growing up, he said, “He was nice to share some things with me and I appreciate him for that.”

With Story showing his mettle both defensively and offensively, he will surely be looking to emulate Rodriguez’s playing record, which stands tall in MLB today.

Like Rodriguez, Story has developed a reputation around the league for his play. Story is a feared power hitter and is a consistent home-run threat for the Rockies. While he will be looking to 2022 to improve his record, his doubts with respect to the climate remain to be answered.

With A-Rod still not responding, it would be tough to say, but we could venture a guess. Buffalo is likely colder than Miami right now. And Story should probably know that too.
