The recent series between the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals was one of the most eventful series in the 2022 season. From quality pitching, hitting, and even bench-clearing, this three-game series had everything that baseball can probably offer.

The New York Mets are playing some quality baseball at the moment, and that is the major reason the Mets are undefeated in all six series in the 2022 MLB season. The Mets, right from the start of the season, have been facing some serious challenges from the opposition teams. But, in the recent series, the Mets lost their calm and got engaged in a huge brawl with the Cardinals players in the middle of the game.

Both teams played the first game of the series with no trouble or difficulties. But as soon as the Mets won the first game, the genuine drama started in the second game on Tuesday. The Cardinals tried their best to win the second game and keep the series alive.

After winning the first game, the Mets also registered a convincing win over the Cardinals in the second game. But it did not come easily. In the second game three Mets players received hit-by-pitch from the Cardinals pitchers.

Starling Marte even said that whether or not it is intentional, the hit-by-pitch incidents have to stop. Later in the game, the Mets pitcher Adam Ottavino tried to take the revenge and hit the Cardinals batter, Tommy Edman, with a nasty slider. With this, the Mets ace Max Scherzer seemed pumped up, as he started shouting towards the Cardinals dugout.

After numerous HBPs from both sides, the game ended in the Mets’ favor. Coming to the third game, the Cardinals had nothing to lose. But they did not want the Mets to win the third game and sweep the series. The Mets, on the other hand, were also prepared for any dirty games in the last game.

And as expected, a massive brawl took place on Wednesday, when Yoan Lopez threw a slider close to Nelson Arenado’s face. Reacting to this, both sides bench-cleared and engaged in a brawl inside the ballpark. Thankfully, no player from either side got hurt. But this was one of the craziest moments of the 2022 MLB season.
