America’s Most Successful Skier Gladly Loses To Mikaela Shiffrin In 6YO Daughter’s Eyes

With every passing day, Mikaela Shiffrin is raising the bar in the enchanting World of alpine skiing. The recent victory in Jasna slalom marked her 95th World Cup victory, the most by anyone, and with still a lot of time left in her career, 150 doesn’t seem too far. As she emerged victorious in her 58th slalom, Shiffrin not only broke a few records on the way but added two glorious crowns to her name.

The Jasna victory rewarded her with, what she termed as her most beautiful trophy ever, a gorgeous head crown. And now the same breathtaking finish on the snowy slopes has blessed her with a new fan as America’s greatest male alpine skier accepts the defeat before the skiing queen.

While Mikaela Shiffrin is undoubtedly the GOAT alpine skier, Bode Miller is regarded as one of the most successful male American alpine skiers. An Olympic and a World Champion, Miller’s daughter, would surely be inspired by him. But as Shiffrin continues to add victories to her name, she has left a huge mark on the 6-year-old. “Inspired by @mikaelashiffrin 95th World Cup title, I couldn’t wait to get Scarlett on the slopes for her first day! Grateful she has amazing female role models in the world of skiing“, Miller wrote in an Instagram update.

Shiffrin was left feeling proud and emotional hearing about this. Reposting his post on her story, she cheered for Miller’s daughter, writing, “Go scarlet“. While Mikaela Shiffrin is inspiring a whole generation, inspiring the daughter of an Olympic champion is a testament to her alpine skiing greatness. Meanwhile, in the ongoing Youth Olympics, another skier named Shiffrin as her role medal despite being the daughter of a 3x Olympic medalist skier.

German skier idolizes the alpine skiing queen

As she aims to compete in the Youth Olympics, German skier Romy Ertl has also named Mikaela Shiffrin as her inspiration. “Mikaela Shiffrin, for me, is a role model”, Romy revealed in a recent interview with Olympics.com. But she added that her mother, 3x Olympic Medalist Martina Ertl, will always remain her first inspiration. As she looks to replicate Shiffrin’s success, she has even got the chance to learn from her.

Trying to learn from the best, Romy revealed that she watches the videos of Shiffrin’s alpine skiing and has met her as well. Calling the meet-up to be “pretty cool”, the 16-year-old also admitted to having received advice from the World Cup Champion on how to be the best. Given the American skier’s unprecedented success, it’s normal for young skiers to idolize her but getting idolized by the children of Olympic medalists is something people only dream of.
