“He’s Going to Kill a Few Guys”: Bodybuilding Veteran Makes a Bold Claim About Shaun Clarida at Arnold Classic 2023

One of the most prestigious bodybuilding championships, Arnold Classic 2023 is set to happen in March. Like other competitions, veterans and fans have begun to predict potential winners. Recently, retired bodybuilder Dennis James mentioned that he heard about Shaun Clarida participating in Arnold Classic and that he could kill a few competitors.

Men’s IFBB professional 212 division competitor, Shaun Clarida is one of the potential bodybuilders who could easily sway the contest in his favor. He has sincerely worked on himself to develop a competition-worthy physique. Nicknamed The Giant Killer, Clarida has competed in nearly 15 competitions.

Dennis James on Shaun Clarida’s participation in Arnold Classic 2023

The 40-year-old Shaun Clarida won the highest bodybuilding honor as he won the 212 Olympia in 2020. He defeated powerful competitors like Derek Lunsford, Kamal Elgargni, and George Peterson in that competition. Shaun’s bodybuilding virtuoso has reached many veterans.

Recently, legend Dennis James made a significant claim in a podcast interview with Muscle and Fitness about the participation of Shaun Clarida in Arnold Classic 2023. He stated in the interview, “You know who’s also doing the Arnold—Shaun Clarida. Yeah. Shaun Clarida, I heard is doing the Arnold. Yeah of course, [the Open], there’s no 212.”

James also added, “He’s going to be so much better conditioned and he’s going to sneak in and he’s going to kill a few guys.” The veteran revealed that Shaun was a dangerous Open competitor. According to him, the 40-year-old bodybuilder could out-condition his competitors and that could hurt their chances of winning the title. Moreover, Dennis believes that Shaun’s conditioning could give everyone a big competition.

Another bodybuilding veteran, Tony Doherty in an interview agreed with Dennis. He revealed that he once told Shaun that he looked like Ronnie Coleman because of his back conditioning. Moreover, all the veterans in the interview agreed that Shaun has a bit of a Coleman look. 

Shaun Clarida’s bodybuilding career

New Jersey boy, Shaun Clarida gained interest in bodybuilding when he met a bodybuilder in a gym. Soon he decided to compete in bodybuilding contests. He began winning multiple championships in 2005 and one of his career’s biggest highlights was‹›‹‹ winning Olympia 212 in 2020 and 2022.

Further, in 2018, he won New York Pro 212 and Legion Sports Fest Pro Men’s 212. Moreover, it was rumored that he would participate in the Open category of Mr. Olympia 2022, but that never happened.
