“Add Olympic All-Around Champion to That”: Gymnastics World Reacts to Jordan Chiles’s NCAA Performance

UCLA gymnast Jordan Chiles was at her best during the semi-finals of the NCAA women’s gymnastics championships on April 13. The 22-year-old won two titles at the competition, finishing second in the all-around category. She was overtaken by Utah gymnast Maile O’Keefe who scored a perfect 10 on the beam. But she didn’t let that faze her. Counting her blessings, the UCLA gymnast celebrated her win on social media with a heartfelt note.

On the occasion of her birthday, April 15, Jordan Chiles shared a victorious picture of her on Instagram. Gushing over her great win, fans filled her comment section with loads of praise.

On Thursday’s nail-biting gymnastics championship, Olympic silver medallist Jordan Chiles won the NCAA title on the floor exercise with a score of 9.9875. Nevertheless, she also advanced with a perfect 10 score by performing on the uneven bars in the all-around category. However, Utah gymnast Maile O’Keefe outshined her by scoring a perfect 10 on the beam securing the all-around title. The neck-to-neck competition between the two gymnasts resulted in O’Keefe with 39.7625 points and Chiles with 39.1725.

The UCLA sophomore celebrated her two-title win by sharing a picture of her from the championship on Instagram. The young gymnast posted a picture holding the NCAA trophy along with a heartfelt note in the caption that read, “From Olympian to World Champion and now a 2x NCAA Champion, I am beyond grateful for every opportunity that has been given to me🥺🫶🏽 Onto the next… Paris here I come😝
