After securing the 2 position in the NQS rankings, once again, the LSU team excelled in its dominance by conquering a win against No. 9 Alabama with 198.325 on March, 1 in Louisiana.

After securing the season-high road score of 197.950 in the LSU vs Florida meet, the LSU Gymnastics team has achieved another milestone, hoping for the No. 1 position. Like the other matchups, LSU tiger KJ Johnson shone brightly, posting a career-high score in the impressive LSU vs Alabama meet, leading the team to another Top-10 victory this season.

LSU ‘can’t get enough’ of KJ Johnson

LSU Gymnastics also came forth to applaud KJ Johnson’s performance. Taking to its official X handle, they shared her outstanding score, captioning the post “Simply can’t get enough of this routine. KJ keeps the fire going with a career-high 9.975!”

Leading the team with a 9.825 score on vault in a battle against Florida in the O’Connell Center, once again, KJ Johnson exhibited her gymnastics prowess in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on March 1. In the spectacular clash between the LSU Tigers gymnastics and Alabama Crimson Tide gymnastics teams, KJ Johnson maintained her gymnastics enthusiasm in the floor routine

Interestingly, in every meet of this season, KJ Johnson scored high points on vault, establishing her enduring legacy as the LSU’s rock-on vault. Previously, LSU Gymnastics Head Coach Jay Clark also admired KJ Johnson for her notable performance, “She’s at her best when she just lets, she’s powerful. If you think of a word that describes her gymnastics, it’s explosive, powerful, those kinds of words.” The coach also revealed the secret of her performance.

“She’s better off if she just lets her, I tell her all the time, that your body knows how to do the gymnastics. Don’t let the brain get in the way and trip you up, just cut loose, be free, be fearless,” Clark added. And KJ Johnson keeps continuing to improve her score.

KJ Johnson continues her dominant streak this NCAA season

KJ Johnson astonished the fans with her excellent gymnastic qualities. Her score progress is noteworthy. In the LSU vs Auburn clash on 16th February, PMAC saw KJ Johnson’s gymnastics skills as she led the team with the highest score of 9.775 on vault. Apart from that, in a battle against Florida on 23 Feb, KJ extended her score with a 9.825 score on vault. In 2023, she also earned the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
