The athlete selection committee will pay close attention to each of the gymnast’s performances during the selection camp. On 19th September, that is, the first day of the camp will see the athletes competing on all four apparatuses for the all-around event. Biles broke the 90-year-old all-around national record set by former gymnast Alfred Jochim, upon winning her eighth national title. On the first day of the Championships, Biles scored a solid 59.150 on the four apparatus. Her final two-day score was a staggering 118.450, edging out 2022 World all-around silver medallist Shilese Jones by four points. As she took the golden podium, the crowds rose to their feet to welcome the champion back. Simone Biles was taken aback and said, “It’s really amazing. Everybody in here believes in me, and my teammates believe in me, my coaches, my family, everyone”.
