Shaun White is an iconic athlete, having conquered not one but two sports. White, who retired in 2022, has won three golds in his decorated Olympic career; Shaun has also won 15 golds at the X Games. The skateboarder turned snowboarder holds the record for the most Olympic and X games golds won by a single athlete.

In a recent interview with TODAY, while talking about his latest trip to Switzerland, one anchor asked White about a potential Tom Brady-like comeback. Here’s what the champ had to say.

Shaun White opened up about a potential comeback

While in conversation, one of the anchors asked Shaun for his thoughts about making a comeback like NFL legend Tom Brady. White answered“I don’t know., for sure am happy in this new life I’m making.”

Since retiring, White has shifted focus to building a life away from sports. From expanding his apparel brand, Whitespace, to touring across Europe, he indeed seems content and satisfied with his decision to retire.

However, regarding future competitions, Shaun said, “The next season hasn’t even come about yet, so I gotta just live with it for a moment.” While Shaun’s statement doesn’t mean he’ll compete once the next season is here, it doesn’t rule out the chance of seeing him return either.

In fact, Shaun White met with the competitors while he was in Switzerland. “I saw my competitors recently. I was testing products in Switzerland and I’m hanging with them,” he said.

He also added that just like the hosts, the snowboarders also thought Shaun was there to compete. “They were all like, ‘wait are you (going to compete)?'” said Shaun.

The Snowboarding legend‘s last competition was the 2022 Winter Olympics. Shaun missed the bronze by one spot and finished fourth in the halfpipe. Ahead of te games then, the Olympic medalist had announced it would be his last Olympics and later revealed that he was retiring for good.
