Gator swimmer Caeleb Dressel made his mark on both the prelims and final on Thursday at the TYR Pro 2024 in the FMC Natatorium in Westmont, Illinois. In keeping the momentum, Caeleb Dressel picked up a well-deserved win in the 100m fly, defeating heavyweights. This was the very first win for the newly-being dad as his wife Meghan Haila and he announced their happy news a few weeks ago.

This time, the TYR Pro Swim Series didn’t have to wait for Caeleb Dressel‘s last-minute update regarding his swimming participation in the event. Last time in January, he had to back out owing to family reasons. But this time, the veteran swimmer vehemently announced his mindset by etching for Westmont’s endeavor. After achieving fatherhood, the situation could not be more effective for Caeleb Dressel to continue his fairy tale in the pool.

On Thursday night, the former Olympic champion took a blazing 51.27 seconds to win the 100m fly event in the final A. The pool also displayed Dare Rose, 2022 world champion Trenton Julian, and Zach Harting. So in celebrating the astounding victory, USA Swimming’s X-handle posted, “Caeleb Dressel is back on top at a #TYRProSeries”.

However, Caeleb Dressel and Dare Rose limited the bout to themselves in the last half. But the 7x Olympic champion swimmer didn’t do anything wrong in keeping himself calm to win the battle on a tightrope. Eventually, Dare Rose stopped at 51.77 seconds to stay in the second position. For Trenton Julian, the evening panned out to be a disappointing affair. Tying with Jorge Iga, the 26-year-old swimmer, hung on in fifth position. Caeleb Dressel’s known peer from the early days, Santo Condorelli stumbled a bit, bagging the fourth position.

In the early evening, Caeleb Dressel’s prelim performance came superbly as well. After Santo Condorelli’s top timing of 52.23, he registered his 52.31 in breaking into the final. That time as well, the penetrating speed in the last half matched the swimmer with the Canadian phenom. So, these back-to-back achievements in the second contest after his flamboyant return might boost Caeleb Dressel for the upcoming Olympic trial in Lucas Oil Stadium.
