Usain Bolt is one of the most influential athletes. The Jamaican legend’s track and field records stand still and speak volumes about his athletic prowess. Only a few athletes have managed to come close to the now-retired athlete’s monumental records, and American track and field sensation Noah Lyles tops that list.
The answer to ‘Where is the new Usain Bolt?’ is Lyles, as he constantly poses a threat to Usain Bolt’s records. He even made bold statements regarding Bolt and his records. In a statement, he revealed that he will run the 100 meters in 9.65 seconds and the 200 meters in 19.10. Lyles made this statement over a week back and also recently crossed paths with Bolt. Lyles, who recently stormed to a glorious win at the 2023 World Athletics Championships, was left awestruck during a recent encounter with his idol.

The video of this fan moment was shared by NBC Olympics & Paralympics on their X handle (formerly Twitter). In this video, Bolt is seen walking toward Lyles, and both of them share a high-five followed by a hug. Usain Bolt then whispers some words of wisdom in Lyles’s ears. He greeted Lyles with, “You’re good; good to see you, bro.” He then said, “Let me say something; keep that same attitude, brother. The sport needs that s**t; we need a personality. Alright!” They both hugged each other post that and posed for the media with big smiles on their faces. The video was taken during Noah Lyles’s win at the Racers Grand Prix 2023.

The video was shared moments before 26-year-old Lyle’s appearance at the World Athletics Championships. Lyles looked confident to break Usain Bolt’s 19.19-second record in 200 meters, which the latter set at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin. Lyles remains the sole consistent contender to Bolt’s records. He has even shattered a few, raising the world’s anticipation. What happened next was a magical display of willpower.
