WOW! Nike Gifts Carli Lloyd Insane Custom Boots for Farewell USWNT Game

After a long and illustrious career, Carli Lloyd bid goodbye to soccer. She played her last match against South Korea in Minnesota as the USWNT thrashed their guests 6-0. Although she couldn’t score a goal, Lloyd bowed to the crowd at Minnesota United’s Allianz Field for one last time.

Lloyd’s long time sponsors Nike gifted the soccer legend custom-made boots for her last match. She removed her boots and walked off the pitch as she was substituted to a rousing ovation from the stands.

Nike’s special tribute to Carli Lloyd

Nike gifted Lloyd custom-made black and golden boots for her to wear during her last match for her country. It also marked the time she started playing soccer from 1987 to 2021. She ended her career after getting her 316th cap, which makes her the second-most capped player in international soccer history. Lloyd is the third highest goal-scorer for her country with a tally of 134 career goals.

The US soccer superstar is the only player to feature in 22 games for USWNT this season. Hence, her value to her nation cannot be overstated. She left the pitch after removing her jersey and revealing another jersey with Hollins’ name (her husband) on it.

The soccer superstar spoke about the ending to her storied career with the USWNT.

Tonight was one of the best closings of a career I could have ever asked for. The crowd was amazing. The stadium was amazing and it was just electrifying,said Carli.
