Megan Rapinoe Revealed How Rival Team Fans Inspired Her Iconic Celebration Pose

With her unique hairstyle, Megan Rapinoe possesses an attractive personality. There is no doubt that the soccer superstar has played a significant role in the movement for pay equity in sports. She has done everything, from receiving the ‘Presidential Medal of Freedom’ to posing uniquely during celebrations. However, many people remain intrigued by the unique pose of the USWNT sensation.  

Megan became a superstar in 2019 when she scored two goals against France. When she scored the glorious goals in the quarter-final match, she did an iconic pose that made everyone go wild.

In the past, her picture went viral on Twitter when she did the pose for the first time. During her pose discussion, Megan spoke of how the match against France became one of her favorites. In her opinion, the crowd that was supporting France enjoyed it too. France was the motivation for her to pose freely by her heart.

She told Harper’s BAZAAR, “The french crowd wanted their team to win so bad, but I feel like they also loved us, and they were rooting for us in this much larger, more important sense.” Talking about the origin of the pose, she added, “And obviously, that’s where the pose came from. I mean, I always try to think of a celebration.”

Megan Rapinoe was born on July 5, 1985, in Redding, California. She has played soccer with her brother since she was three years old. During a conversation, her father, Jim Rapinoe described the sacrifices he and his wife made for their daughter. Although Rapinoe could not find a girl team in Redding, her brother Brian inspired her to stay on the field.

When the soccer star turned nine, her father registered her for the boy’s team. However, despite all the obstacles, Megan proved superior to her teammates. But most importantly, she has proved to her father, her worth. Although she had enrolled in college, she did not attend due to her passion for soccer.
