Almost a decade ago, Kelly Slater talked about the behind the scene preparations of his unequivocal prompts and triumphs. Slater even opened up about the dangers the surfers have to face while training to surf a big wave.

Kelly Slater’s discipline regime to conquer the big wave
In 2014, Kelly Slater appeared in a press conference just before his 540 air prompt surfing. He profoundly chatted about the various surfing prompts and his past triumphs. Likewise, at one point he opened up about the threats and dangers involved in surfing the big wave, which usually rises in abundance during the winter season.

Explaining the coping mechanism, Slater said, “You have to keep your cardio up. You also have to keep your breath hold up”. The 50-year-old further elaborated on the threats by adding, “Dealing with big waves is dangerous stuff”.
