“What the F**k?”: Surfers Create the World’s Largest River Wave in a Never-Seen-Before Adventure

From big waves to pipelines to mavericks, the sea harbors every wave crest within its infinity. The ocean not only paves the way for surfers to explore the notorious wave pinnacles but also induces a thrill within the wave chasers. But have you ever heard of surfing on a river wave? While it sounds atypical, when it comes to surfing, a group of adrenaline junkies found a way to paddle on the waves of a calm river.

An Oregon-based group of extreme sports enthusiasts recently constructed a way to trigger waves in the tranquility of the river. The group of adventurers coupled their enthusiasm with science and created enormous wave crests in the stable water body. Let’s see how the surfers did it.

Natural surfing experts trenched it up and then came the waves!

A group of American surfers recently discovered a trapped water body during their travels. Now, the river situated alongside the beach sparked an idea in the adventurers’ innovative minds. The young surfers decided to create waves in the river by digging a small trench from the ocean to the stable water body. After they dug the trail, they left the rest at the hands of gravity.

Once the high-intensity waves of the ocean met the river, the trail started to generate big waves. Following this, the surfers hopped on the waves with their surfboards and started paddling onto the waves induced by the river. Sharing the video of their extraordinary adventures, LADbible Australia took to its Facebook handle to give a peek at the surfers’ creativity. Interestingly, experiencing the thrill of surfing in the river, one surfer exclaimed, “what the f**k?”.

Defining their innovation, the Facebook handle of the Australian media house penned, “Ever heard of a river wave? Start with a small trench, and in no time the small stream will turn into a monster wave”. Clearly, the group of surfers made a splash by blending their love for surfing with science. Nevertheless, this is not the first time that the Oregon natives caused a stir in the surfing fraternity.

The community of ‘Sickos’
