Africa’s Usain Bolt Finally Shares Positive Update on His Participation at World’s After Bizarre VISA Issue Took Over Headlines

Doubts emerged about whether Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala would compete in the 2022 World Championships. But, those doubts are done and dusted. Dubbed to be Africa’s Usain Bolt, he received a last-minute visa to compete in Oregon and bid his claim to win the 100-meter title. His coach Duncan Ayiemba gave details regarding the process.
He received a call from the Ministry of Sports in the morning as they handed over his visa to compete in the USA. He will have a few hours to rest before he competes in the 100-meter heats on Friday. It is a sensational decision for the sprinter who almost lost his place. Now, he can focus on the task ahead.

Ferdinand Omanyala to America
There were issues regarding his visa, and appearing for the event became problematic. “I am not giving up on the World Championships yet,” said Omanyala, hopeful for his visa approval. Hence, this is good news for the sprinter, one of the best talents on the planet. He spoke about the intervention by Kenyan authorities that helped him secure his travel permission.

Track and field Kenya executive member Barnabas Korir and several other athletes had also faced the same issue related to visas. Other Ethiopian and Nigerian athletes were also facing similar obstacles. For Omanyala, it is another chance to showcase his talents to the world. “I Believe It Will Be Broken”- Africa’s Fastest Man Vows to Beat Usain Bolt’s 100-Meters World Record
Omanyala started as a rugby player and slowly transitioned to sprinting. He suffered a setback in 2016 after testing positive for a banned substance and received a 14-month doping ban in 2017. However, he returned to the top and slowly showcased his sprinting ability, jumping over each hurdle.

Chasing Usain Bolt?
Ferdinand reached the 100-meter semi-finals and set a Kenyan record in the competition. The perfect calling card came at the Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi. Running in his homeland, Omanyala took home the victory with Justin Gatlin behind his back. Gatlin had intense rivalries with Usain Bolt as he could not catch Ferdinand. He set a time of 9.85 seconds and posted the third-fastest time in 2022.

By defeating Akani Simbine of South Africa at the African Championships, he earned the name of being the fastest African man. Heading to the 2022 World Championships, Omanyala hopes to inspire a whole new generation of Africans by showing that he can be the fastest man on the planet.
